Revised Travel Advisory for Pakistan:
British Nationals Urged to Avoid Certain Areas
The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) of the United Kingdom has recently updated its travel advisory for Pakistan. The latest guidance highlights specific security threats in certain regions that British nationals should be aware of.
According to the revised advisory released on Tuesday, it strongly advises against traveling within a 10-mile radius of the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan. This caution is due to an increased risk present in those areas.
British travelers are urged to take note of this advice and exercise caution when planning their trips or making any necessary arrangements. By being informed about potential risks associated with these particular locations, individuals can make more educated decisions regarding their travels.

The guidance issued by authorities advises caution when visiting certain regions in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan, as well as specific areas within Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Sindh province.

In KP, it is recommended to avoid travel to Bajaur, Bannu, Swat, Peshawar, North Waziristan,and South Waziristan. Additionally,the use of key routes such as the Karakoram Highway between Mansehraand Chilas should be avoided.Also included is the N45 Highway from Mardan to Chitral which encompasses Kalash Valley.

Restrictions have been implemented in southern coastal areas like Gwadar in Balochistan.Essential travel only is allowed south of the N10 Motorway along with a section oftheN25 nearSindh’s border.

Moreover, it cautions against traveling within 10 miles of the Line of Control in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. In Sindh province, specific are as north of Nawabshah continue to be restricted for travel purposes.

The recent surge in extremist attacks in KP and Balochistan has prompted this announcement, which primarily targets law enforcement.
